01 / OVERVIEW

Car park and estate line marking

Road marking finishes off a surfacing job and keeps a car park or estate road working properly once it's in use. We mark out parking bays, disabled bays and EV charging bays, along with hatching, directional arrows and give-way lines on estate roads and commercial sites.

Clear, well laid out markings make a car park easier to use and help keep traffic moving safely on estate roads, especially at junctions and pedestrian crossing points.

02 / ROAD MARKING

Thermoplastic or paint

We mark roads and car parks using either thermoplastic road marking material or road marking paint, depending on the surface, the traffic levels and how long the markings need to last. Thermoplastic is melted onto the surface and generally lasts longer under heavy traffic, while paint is a cost-effective option for lighter use areas and can be reapplied more easily.

Disabled and EV bays

We mark disabled bays and EV charging bays to the layout you need, including the associated symbols and hatching. Getting bay widths and access zones right matters for disabled bays in particular, so we work from the dimensions and layout agreed for the site.

Refreshing faded markings

Road markings fade with weather, tyre wear and general use, so bays, hatching and lines gradually become harder to see. We refresh faded markings on existing car parks and estate roads, repainting or re-applying thermoplastic over the existing layout, or to an updated layout if you want to change the bay numbers or arrangement.

White lining marked on a new estate road03

Road marking on new estate roads

On new estate roads, we lay white lining, give-way markings and junction markings as part of the wider road construction and surfacing work, so the finished road is ready to use as soon as it opens.

FAQS

Frequently asked questions

01

How long do road markings last?

It depends on the material and how much traffic the area gets. Thermoplastic markings generally last longer under heavy use than paint, but both will fade over time with weather and tyre wear. High traffic areas like entrances and turning points tend to fade fastest and need refreshing sooner.

02

What's the difference between thermoplastic and paint road markings?

Thermoplastic is melted onto the road surface and bonds into it, giving a thicker, more durable mark that generally suits busier car parks and roads. Paint is applied cold, costs less to apply, and works well for lighter use areas or where markings are likely to be changed again before long.

03

Can you repaint existing car park markings?

Yes. We regularly refresh faded bay lines, hatching and arrows on existing car parks and estate roads, either repainting the current layout or re-marking it if you want to change bay numbers, add EV bays, or adjust the layout.

04

Do you mark disabled and EV charging bays?

Yes. We mark disabled bays and EV charging bays with the correct symbols and hatching, working to the layout and bay dimensions agreed for your site. This is often done alongside the wider car park line marking and surfacing work.
